Shelley Strohfus

Shelley Strohfus

PRINCIPAL HS

Shelley Strohfus is the Principal of Horizon High School. She oversees the day to day functions of the school and collaborates with students, staff, families and the community to make Horizon an excellent environment to serve students.

During her time in PVSchools, Shelley has served as a Dean of Students and Assistant Principal. She has served on many district committees and is also a product of PV Schools since Kindergarten and is a Horizon High School Alumni.

Prior to PVSchools, Shelley taught in the Boise School District in Boise, ID, as well as the Phoenix Union High School District. Shelley also coached volleyball throughout her time as a teacher. Prior to entering the education field, Shelley worked in the corporate world. Shelley has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and Master of Education in Educational Leadership.

Charles Oconnor

Charles Oconnor

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL HS

Chuck O'Connor is an Assistant Principal at Horizon High School, where he oversees the Seniors.

Before becoming an Assistant Principal at Horizon High School, Chuck was the Dean of Students at Horizon, Assistant Principal at Echo Mountain Intermediate School, and a teacher at Echo Mountain Primary/Intermediate. 

Chuck earned his Master of Education from Northern Arizona University and received his Bachelor of Science from Grand Canyon University. Chuck has proudly served the Paradise Valley Unified School District since 1998.

Jennifer Adams

Jennifer Adams

Jennifer Adams is an Assistant Principal who oversees Freshmen and Juniors. 

Prior to working at Horizon, Ms. Adams was an Assistant Principal of Culture & Climate at Barry Goldwater High School. As a Phoenix native and Washington High School alum, she’s committed to fostering a positive school environment.

Ms. Adams' roles have included Student Success Coordinator and teacher of psychology and special education. Skilled in restorative practices and trauma-informed care, Ms. Adams supports both academic and interpersonal growth. She is also a recognized coach and collaborative leader, and holds a Masters in Special Education and an Educational Leadership endorsement.

Dean of Students

Megan Miller

Megan Miller is the Dean of Students of Horizon High School, overseeing student attendance.  

During her time in PVSchools, Megan has served on various committees and taught in the classroom for 22 years as a Special Education math teacher.  

Megan earned her undergraduate degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University, followed by a Master of Education in Educational Leadership.
