Shelley Strohfus

Shelley Strohfus

PRINCIPAL HIGH SCHOOL

Shelley Strohfus is the Principal of Horizon High School. She oversees the day to day functions of the school and collaborates with students, staff, families and the community to make Horizon an excellent environment to serve students.

During her time in PVSchools, Shelley has served as a Dean of Students and Assistant Principal. She has served on many district committees and is also a product of PV Schools since Kindergarten and is a Horizon High School Alumni.

Prior to PVSchools, Shelley taught in the Boise School District in Boise, ID, as well as the Phoenix Union High School District. Shelley also coached volleyball throughout her time as a teacher. Prior to entering the education field, Shelley worked in the corporate world. Shelley has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and Master of Education in Educational Leadership.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL HIGH SCHOOL

Chuck O'Connor is an Assistant Principal at Horizon High School, where he oversees the Seniors.

Before becoming an Assistant Principal at Horizon High School, Chuck was the Dean of Students at Horizon, Assistant Principal at Echo Mountain Intermediate School, and a teacher at Echo Mountain Primary/Intermediate. 

Chuck earned his Master of Education from Northern Arizona University and received his Bachelor of Science from Grand Canyon University. Chuck has proudly served the Paradise Valley Unified School District since 1998.

Ashley Kilcullen

Ashley Kilcullen

Ashley Kilcullen is an Assistant Principal at Horizon High School in PVSchools where she oversees the class of 2025.

Before transferring to PVSchools, Ashley spent 10 years of her education career in the Ferguson-Florissant School District in St. Louis, MO. Ashley was a high school mathematics teacher, and dance team coach, and later became the Math Instructional Support Leader.

Ashley earned her undergraduate degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Central Missouri, a masters in Educational Psychology, and a specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
